Jakarta, Feb. 16 -- Former Indonesian President Megawati Soekarnoputri met with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Saturday.

The two discussed various issues, including Palestine, and explored cooperation between the UAE and Indonesia's National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), where Megawati currently chairs the agency's Steering Committee.

"They discussed cooperation between BRIN and the UAE's research and innovation institution," Indonesian Ambassador to Tunisia Zuhairi Misrawi, who attended the meeting and served as a translator, said in a statement on Sunday.
