Jakarta, Aug. 12 -- Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Tuesday imposed an overseas travel ban on former Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas as part of an investigation into alleged corruption in Hajj management from 2023 to 2024.

"On August 11, 2025, the KPK issued an overseas travel ban on three individuals, namely YCQ, IAA, and FHM," KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said, referring to the former minister by his initial. The other two are believed to be his former special staff member and a private-sector figure.

Prasetyo said the six-month travel ban is intended to ensure the individuals remain in Indonesia during the investigation.
