Jakarta, Feb. 5 -- Acting head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, has said that Indonesia's gross domestic product (GDP) per capita increased to Rp78.62 million in 2024 from Rp75 million in 2023.

"GDP per capita in 2024 is Rp78.62 million, or US$4,960.33 per capita," she informed in Jakarta on Wednesday.

GDP per capita is an indirect indicator of per capita income and is often used to assess the prosperity of a region.

Widyasanti said that the nominal GDP value was recorded at Rp22,138.96 trillion in 2024, an increase from Rp20,892.4 trillion in 2023.

She added that though the GDP and GDP per capita increased, Indonesia's cumulative economic growth (c-to-c) slowed in 2024.
