Jakarta, Sept. 26 -- The Ministry of Industry stated that Indonesia's fashion industry continues to show positive trends and plays a strategic role in driving national economic growth.

Director General of Small, Medium, and Miscellaneous Industries Reni Yanita said here on Friday that in the second quarter of 2025, the fashion industry contributed 6.96 percent to the non-oil and gas manufacturing gross domestic product (GDP).

That figure shows an increase of 1.6 percent compared to the same period last year.

"From the employment side, the sector absorbed around 1.6 million workers in small industries in 2024 and nearly 89 thousand workers in large industries," Yanita said during the Indonesia Fashion Ecosystem Summit (IDFES) 2025.
