Jakarta, July 8 -- As part of its continued efforts to counter extremism and terrorism, Indonesia's National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) is finalizing the 2025-2029 National Action Plan for Preventing Violent Extremism (RAN PE).

BNPT Chief Secretary Bangbang Surono said the second phase of the plan's finalization will focus on nine key areas that will guide the country's counter-extremism efforts over the next five years.

"The drafting process involves multiple stakeholders to refine the strategy," Surono said in a statement on Tuesday.

He noted that the process has been ongoing for the past year and includes input from ministries, government agencies, scholars, academics, civil society organizations, and regional governments.
