Jakarta, Dec. 2 -- The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) informed that four-wheeled vehicles are now allowed to pass through the North Sumatra route to Kuala Simpang in Aceh Tamiang, though with speed limitations, following restoration work on the disaster-affected road.
"The target is for the route to be 100 percent passable by Wednesday. Today's work involves removing some of the debris piled up along the roadside," BNPB Head of the Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center, Abdul Muhari, said here on Tuesday.
He stated that heavy equipment from the Public Works Department continues to clear soil, mud, and other debris obstructing road access.
