Jakarta, Feb. 2 -- Indonesia's National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) said on Monday that 57 landslide victims in Cisarua Sub-district, West Bandung, West Java, have been identified, with all bodies handed over to their families.
BNPB Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center head Abdul Muhari said the identification process was conducted using antemortem and postmortem data collected by the police's Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) Team since the first day of evacuation.
Based on preliminary data, as of Sunday at 4 p.m., the joint search and rescue (SAR) team had transferred 74 body bags to the DVI Team. Of that number, 17 bodies are still undergoing forensic examination and identification.
