Jakarta, Sept. 17 -- The Indonesian National Alms Agency (Baznas) has stepped in to assist residents affected by recent flooding in Bali Province by setting up public kitchens, conducting clean-up activities, and distributing basic supplies.
"In response to the disaster, Baznas promptly deployed teams to provide humanitarian services. We aim to ensure that zakat (Islamic alms) truly benefits citizens in need during this emergency," Head of the Baznas Distribution and Utilization Division Saidah Sakwan said in a statement on Wednesday.
She noted that Baznas has been distributing clean water, hygiene kits, infant and toddler supplies, blankets, and other essential items to residents in Bali.
