Banda Aceh, Feb. 21 -- Since January 1, the Banda Aceh Immigration Office has postponed the departure of 54 individuals suspected of attempting to work illegally in Malaysia through Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport in Aceh Besar.

"This delay was initiated after immigration officers determined that the passengers planned to leave the country as migrant workers through non-procedural channels," said the office's head, Gindo Ginting, on Friday.

He explained that many of the passengers claimed they were traveling abroad to visit relatives or for recreational purposes. However, after further investigation, they were unable to provide evidence to support these claims.
