Jakarta, April 7 -- President Prabowo Subianto stated that Indonesia would respond to the reciprocal tariffs imposed by the United States (US) by sending envoys to conduct equal and fair negotiations.

"We will open negotiations with the US. We will convey our intention to maintain good relations, and we also want fair relations," he remarked on Monday.

Prabowo noted that the reciprocal tariffs imposed by the US on several countries were a decision taken by the US leader to bolster industrial growth in his country.

Hence, in response, he stated that Indonesia would also prioritize similar measures during negotiations, focusing on safeguarding the interests of Indonesians.
