Jakarta, Aug. 16 -- Indonesia's Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education is stepping up efforts to re-instill patriotism among youth through a more contextual learning approach.

"We are re-instilling patriotism in our children, of course, by using methods that also align with the principles of learning," Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti said in Jakarta on Saturday.

He acknowledged signs of declining nationalism among young people, saying education must not only provide knowledge but also experiences that foster pride in being Indonesian.
