Jakarta, Feb. 3 -- Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq reassured the international community of Indonesia's firm commitment to implementing climate change measures under the Paris Agreement, despite the withdrawal of a major country from the treaty.

"It is crucial that we all pay close attention to the measures outlined in the Paris Agreement. It would be imprudent for us to let the treaty, a fruit of decades of collective global will, collapse simply because one or two superpowers withdraw from it," he said.

The minister made the statement at the ESG Sustainability Forum 2026 in Jakarta on Tuesday, in remarks widely interpreted as referring to the United States' official exit from the accord in January this year.
