Jakarta, Nov. 21 -- The Indonesian government is building more than 15,000 village cooperatives with supporting facilities such as business outlets and warehouses, Cooperatives Minister Ferry Juliantono said on Friday.

He said the Ministry of Cooperatives aims to build 20,000 cooperatives by November under the Red and White Village Cooperatives (KDMP) program, with the number expected to rise to 80,000 by February next year.

Deputy for Institutional Affairs and Cooperative Digitalization Henra Saragih added that construction is targeted for completion by March.

The ministry's plan follows President Prabowo Subianto's directive for each village cooperative to operate seven facilities: grocery stores, pharmacies, clinics, management offi...
