Jakarta, April 16 -- Indonesia's Minister of National Development Planning, Rachmat Pambudy, has called on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to adopt a sustainable fisheries management system.
Pambudy made this appeal during a meeting with the European Union (EU) Ambassador to Vietnam, Julien Guerrier, and Belgian Ambassador to Vietnam, Karl Van den Bossche, in Hanoi, Vietnam.
"It is time for ASEAN to have a sustainable and data-based fisheries management system, as what has been implemented by the EU. If we succeed at the bilateral level, we can replicate it at the ASEAN level for our collective welfare," he remarked here on Wednesday.
