Jakarta, April 25 -- Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati is exploring opportunities to secure funding from the European Investment Bank (EIB) for the development of integrated and low-emission public transportation in Indonesia.
During a meeting with EIB President Nadia Calvino, Indrawati outlined how connected and environmentally-friendly public transportation can be a solution for Indonesia, especially its big cities.
"Connected and environmentally-friendly public transportation can be a solution to reduce carbon emissions resulting from the high volume of private vehicle use, especially in big cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya," she said in an Instagram post on Friday.
