Jakarta, Nov. 11 -- Indonesia is positioning itself as a global hub for carbon markets by offering high-quality carbon credits that support international climate goals and boost local prosperity, a senior official said.

Speaking at the Indonesia Pavilion at the 2025 UN Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belem, Brazil, on Tuesday, Deputy Minister of Forestry Rohmat Marzuki said Indonesia's forests are vital living reservoirs that sustain biodiversity, water, energy, and communities nationwide.

"The Ministry of Forestry is preparing four derivative regulations to strengthen carbon market governance," he said during a dialogue titled " Accelerating Climate Action through Inclusive and Integrated National Policies ."
