Jakarta, Sept. 2 -- The Indonesian Environment Ministry (KLH) is conducting a performance assessment of 70 companies operating in the Brantas River Basin (DAS), East Java, including five that were previously monitored for alleged environmental pollution.

"Currently, 70 companies in the Brantas River Basin are undergoing an environmental management performance assessment through PROPER," Deputy for Pollution and Environmental Damage Control (PPKL) at the Environment Ministry/Environmental Control Agency (BPLH), Rasio Ridho Sani, told ANTARA in Jakarta on Tuesday.
