Jakarta, Aug. 19 -- The Indonesian government is preparing a regulation to strengthen the conservation and sustainable utilization of the country's biodiversity amid growing threats to the nation's natural wealth.
At the launch of the "Current Status of Indonesia's Biodiversity in the Sumatra and Sulawesi Ecoregions" held here on Tuesday, Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol Nurofiq praised the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) for releasing the latest document on the current condition of the archipelago's natural resources.
"I believe there will be several regulatory instruments that follow, including government regulations, presidential regulations, and some that will be ministerial regulations," Nurofiq stated.
