Jakarta, Dec. 26 -- Indonesia's national police have prepared an additional 1,500 personnel to bolster post-disaster response efforts after floods in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, a senior police official said on Friday.

Deputy Police Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo said the deployment was aimed at addressing manpower and infrastructure needs after a month-long evaluation.

About 600 personnel from two Mobile Brigade (Brimob) battalions will be stationed in Aceh Tamiang and North Aceh, while the remaining 900 will be drawn from regional police units across several provinces, he said.
