Jakarta, Oct. 24 -- The Indonesian government is seeking to prepare 500 thousand graduates of vocational high schools (SMK) to work abroad through the SMK Go Global program, according to Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar.
This was confirmed by the minister after holding a meeting with the Minister of Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Mukhtarudin in Jakarta on Friday.
The SMK Go Global program was initiated by Iskandar together with the Ministry of Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection as a strategic step to bolster the role of SMK in preparing graduates who are ready to work and are globally competitive.
