Jakarta, Nov. 18 -- The Indonesian Ministry of Forestry affirmed Indonesia's commitment to advancing the tenurial rights of indigenous peoples and local communities.
This was conveyed at an Intergovernmental Land Tenure Commitment session of the 30th UN Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belem, Brazil, on Monday.
The ministry's Director of Tenurial and Customary Forest Conflict Resolution, Julmansyah, stated in a statement received on Tuesday that Indonesia is committed to ensuring the recognition and protection of the rights of indigenous peoples and local communities (IPLCs).
