Jakarta, Feb. 7 -- The Indonesia Technology Alliance (ITA) on Friday opened the 6 GHz frequency band, which is required for the operation of Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7, to support significant progress across several sectors.

Speaking at the frequency band launch in Jakarta, Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) Minister Meutya Hafid said that her ministry, which is a part of the alliance, believes that reliable Internet connectivity is essential for Indonesia to advance in the digital era.

She highlighted that the launch of the frequency band, which provides an additional 1,200 MHz of spectrum, marks a notable milestone in Indonesia's digital transformation.
