Jakarta, Aug. 15 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto stated that Indonesia should become a pioneer in new, renewable energy (EBT), or clean energy.

He stated that Indonesia is obligated to strengthen energy security for the sake of national sovereignty. Therefore, oil and gas production should be increased, and the transition to clean energy needs to be accelerated.

"Indonesia must become a global pioneer in clean energy," Prabowo stated while delivering a State Address to present the Government's Introduction or Statement on the 2026 State Budget (APBN) Bill and its Financial Note at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Friday.
