Cirebon, Dec. 26 -- Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan assured that Indonesia's rice supply remains secure, as the government intensifies efforts to safeguard national food stocks amid rising consumption during the Christmas and New Year holiday season.

He highlighted the country's positive trend in rice production this year during an on-site inspection of staple commodity prices and stocks at Jagasatru Central Market in Cirebon, West Java, on Friday.

"We are witnessing an abundance of rice, with the country recording a surplus of 4.7 million tonnes," Hasan affirmed.
