Jakarta, Aug. 21 -- The Indonesian government is working to harness the potential of agroforestry products generated from forest and land rehabilitation in a bid to promote and implement the green economy, Forestry Deputy Minister Sulaiman Umar Shiddiq said.
"Forest and land rehabilitation is not mere planting activities, as it is part of our efforts to advance the green economy with the objective of producing economically valuable agricultural commodities that can support food, energy, and water security," he stated.
In a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday, the deputy minister highlighted ensuring the nation's self-sufficiency in food, energy, and water is mandated in Presidential Instruction No. 14 of 2025.
