Jakarta, Nov. 19 -- The Indonesian Ministry of Immigration and Corrections has launched the Global Citizenship of Indonesia (GCI) initiative to address challenges arising from dual citizenship within the country's single nationality system.

Immigration and Corrections Minister Agus Andrianto said the GCI allows the Immigration Directorate General to grant permanent residence permits of indefinite validity to foreign nationals who have qualifying blood, kinship, historical or other strong ties to Indonesia.
