Makassar, Nov. 17 -- Indonesia's Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar on Monday launched a series of discussion forums at four state Islamic universities to strengthen the country's peacebuilding narrative on Gaza.

Umar said the initiative began at UIN Makassar in South Sulawesi and will continue at UIN Medan in North Sumatra, UIN Surabaya in East Java, and UIN Jakarta.

He added that the conclusions will be submitted to the Foreign Affairs Ministry as input for international diplomacy.

He spoke while opening an international seminar at UIN Makassar titled "President Prabowo Subianto's Key Role in Promoting Peace in Gaza," attended by global academics, including Boston University professor Robert W. Hefner.
