Banda Aceh, Feb. 11 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has disbursed Rp72.7 billion (US$4.3 million) in funds to support the pre-Ramadan beef feasting tradition, meugang , in Aceh for residents still recovering from the major disasters that struck Sumatra last November.

"Praise be to God, Mr. President has approved the request of the government and people of Aceh for meugang beef, with the funds already transferred," Aceh Deputy Governor Fadhlullah remarked in Banda Aceh on Wednesday.

He noted that the financial assistance was disbursed by the Presidential Secretariat to the governments of 19 districts and cities in the province on Tuesday (Feb. 10).
