Jakarta, May 28 -- President Prabowo Subianto stated that Indonesia consistently supports the independence of Palestine as a sovereign and independent country.

Indonesia's stance on Palestinian independence aligns with the two-state solution that Indonesia supports to realize peace between Palestine and Israel.

"In various places and forums, I have conveyed Indonesia's stance on the two-state solution. Independence for the Palestinian people is the only way to achieve true peace," he remarked during his joint statement with French President Emmanuel Macron in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Moreover, Prabowo voiced Indonesia's readiness to increase its peacekeeping troops' contributions in the region.
