Jakarta, Jan. 9 -- The Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Finance Ministry recently intercepted an attempted smuggling of 98,165 clear lobster seeds at Terminal 2F of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

Director General of Customs and Excise Djaka Budhi Utama said in a written statement on Friday that the interception was part of a multi-layered monitoring strategy aimed at preventing significant state losses and protecting marine ecosystems from illegal trade.

Utama noted that attempts to smuggle lobster seeds not only violate the law but also threaten the sustainability of Indonesia's marine resources.
