Jakarta, Jan. 20 -- The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has set a target for Indonesia to generate Rp134 trillion (around US$7.9 billion) in revenue from the mineral and coal sector in 2026.
This target represents an increase from the Rp124.7 trillion set for 2025, even though the government has announced plans to cut coal and nickel production, as outlined in the 2026 Work and Budget Plans (RKAB).
ESDM Ministry's Director General of Minerals and Coal Tri Winarno told the press in Jakarta on Monday (Jan. 19) that the 2026 target is likely achievable, given rising prices for several key mining commodities.
