Jakarta, Feb. 13 -- Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi stated that 143.9 million people are projected to travel during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday season.

He explained that the figure is based on a survey conducted by the Ministry of Transportation to assess public travel preferences and intentions.

"Compared to last year's survey estimate of 146 million, the projection is slightly lower. However, the actual realization in 2025 reached 154 million travelers," he said in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.

The minister affirmed that the ministry has coordinated preparations for the holiday exodus during a ministerial meeting at the headquarters of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture.
