Jakarta, Sept. 11 -- Indonesia's Foreign Ministry has repatriated 18 Indonesian nationals from Nepal following widespread upheaval and riots that engulfed the mountainous country.

According to the ministry's written statement, the Indonesians departed from Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport on Thursday, accompanied by a protection team stationed in Nepal.

They are expected to arrive in Jakarta via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Banten on Friday, the ministry added.

The ministry noted that the 18 nationals came from several institutions, including the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, the Health Ministry, the University of Indonesia, as well as GIZ Indonesia and a hydro association.
