Jakarta, July 16 -- Head of the Presidential Communication Office (PCO) Hasan Nasbi has said that the government expects the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (I-EU CEPA) to push up exports by up to 50 percent.

"If exports increase by 50 percent, our domestic industry's performance will increase as well," he added at a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday.

According to Nasbi, with the agreement in place, most Indonesian products are expected to enter the European market tariff-free, which could potentially increase export volumes and, in turn, improve the domestic industry's performance.

Furthermore, improved industrial performance is also expected to boost employment growth.
