Jakarta, Feb. 5 -- Indonesia emphasized for the importance of accommodating the Global South's interests in the process of formulating global artificial intelligence (AI) governance, according to Deputy Minister of Communication and Informatics Nezar Patria.

He made thisstatement during the Ministers' Closed Consultations on the Interim Report of the UN Secretary General's High-level Advisory Body on Artificial Intelligence held in Slovenia on Sunday (February 4).

"We affirmed that global AI governance is supposed to pay attention to the interests of the Global South," he noted in a press release from his office on Monday.
