Jakarta, July 30 -- Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati stated that the government has allocated Rp2.14 trillion (approximately US$130 million) from this year's state budget (APBN) to support the tuition-free school program, Sekolah Rakyat (People's Schools).

"A budget of Rp2.14 trillion has been sourced from the 2025 APBN, and this amount will increase in 2026," she noted in a post uploaded on her Instagram handle @smindrawati, as cited in Jakarta on Wednesday.

She highlighted that out of the targeted 159 Sekolah Rakyat sites for this year, a total of 63 have begun operations since July 14, serving over nine thousand children from poor or extremely poor families across the country.
