Jakarta, July 17 -- The Indonesian government has disbursed Rp6.88 trillion (over US$421 million) in Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) to 11.4 million workers between June 23 and July 1, according to Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati.

"This reflects the state's commitment to supporting its citizens amid various economic challenges," she said in an Instagram post on Thursday.

"It's not just about maintaining purchasing power, but also about encouraging workers to continue contributing, as they are the driving force behind our economic progress," she added.

Indrawati urged the public to make the most of the support programs to help build a more competitive and sustainable economy.
