Jakarta, Jan. 15 -- Environment Minister and Head of the Environmental Control Agency (BPLH) Hanif Faisol Nurofiq has called on regional legislative councils (DPRD) to support stronger budget allocations and oversight to address the waste management crisis at the local level.
In a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Thursday, Hanif said conditions on the ground show that many districts and cities have been unable to keep pace with the volume of waste generation, which has reached 143,824 tonnes per day.
