Jakarta, Sept. 26 -- Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Atip Latipulhayat said that through collaborative efforts over the past five years, Indonesia has reduced its illiteracy rate to 0.92 percent.

He made the statement during the 2025 International Literacy Day commemoration at the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education office here on Friday.

Despite the progress, Atip noted that several districts still require serious attention to completely eradicate illiteracy.

"The government is committed to not leaving anyone behind," he said.
