Jakarta, June 29 -- Indonesia's Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) has confirmed that fishery products from Southeast Sulawesi meet international standards, allowing exports to the United States and Thailand.
As a result, the ministry recently approved the shipment of 98 tonnes of fishery products worth over Rp28 billion (approximately US$1.73 million) to the two countries, according to Ishartini, Head of the KKP's Quality Assurance Division.
Speaking on Saturday, Ishartini said the ministry continues to encourage local exporters to expand their markets, given that their products already comply with global quality assurance standards.
