Jakarta, July 30 -- Indonesia's Foreign Ministry has confirmed that no Indonesian citizens were affected by the powerful earthquake that struck Russia's Kamchatka region on Wednesday morning local time.

Director for the Protection of Indonesian Citizens at the ministry, Judha Nugraha, said his office is closely coordinating with the Indonesian Embassies in Moscow and Tokyo as well as the Consulates General in Osaka and Los Angeles.

"According to communication between the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow and Indonesians in Russia, no Indonesians have been impacted by the quake," Nugraha said in a written statement on Wednesday.
