Jakarta, Jan. 24 -- Foreign Minister Sugiono stated that Indonesia is convinced that the Board of Peace initiated by United States President Donald Trump will not sideline or replace the United Nations' (UN's) role in Gaza recovery and peace-building.

"Will it replace the United Nations? I do not think so," the minister stated in his remarks in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland, on Friday local time.

The organization will not take over the role or supersede the UN mandate in restoring peace in Gaza, he stressed.

Sugiono said that the Board of Peace is an international organization established by like-minded nations to contribute to peace and stability in Gaza amidst the ongoing conflict.
