Jakarta, Dec. 1 -- Indonesia has committed an initial US$1 billion investment after joining the *New Development Bank (NDB), marking its formal participation in the BRICS-led institution.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said here, Monday, that the move reflects Indonesia's active role in strengthening cooperation among Global South countries, continuing the spirit of the Asia-Africa Conference.
"Indonesia becomes a member and is immediately participating actively in the preparations of the NDB," Hartarto said.
Hartarto noted that NDB membership will expand market access and deepen collaboration with major developing economies.
