Beijing, China, Feb. 20 -- Indonesia has a strong diplomatic foundation to mitigate any global challenges posed by tensions between China and the United States, according to former foreign minister Hassan Wirajuda.
"Although China-US relations are tense, our relations with either China or the United States remain firm. As long as the foundation is strong, it will survive any political dynamics," he told ANTARA here on Wednesday.
The trade war between China and the US is at the center of ongoing tensions. It dates back to 2018 when the US slapped high tariffs on Chinese products and restricted Chinese-made technology in the country.
