Jakarta, Nov. 15 -- Indonesia has proposed holding a special meeting between Japan and ASEAN to address music royalties and artificial intelligence (AI) on digital platforms during the first ASEAN-Japan Ministers of Law Meeting in Manila on Saturday.
Law Minister Supratman Agtas said Indonesia is calling for a workshop on intellectual property, focusing on royalties from music and media content generated or distributed by global AI platforms.
Indonesia is preparing the "Indonesian Proposal," which will be discussed at the Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR) session at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva next December.
