Jakarta, Oct. 15 -- Indonesia is tightening oversight of halal-certified products imported from China through enhanced collaboration between the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) and the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing.

Parulian Silalahi, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, said the embassy will work with BPJPH's inspection team to assess several Chinese companies that supply halal products to Indonesia.

"The inspections will cover production sites, supply chains, and slaughterhouses in several provinces in China," Silalahi said in a statement on Wednesday.

He added that the initiative reflects the embassy's commitment to supporting stronger halal assurance on imports from China.
