Jakarta, June 4 -- Indonesia has affirmed its commitment to maintaining world peace and promoting friendly relations between countries by signing the Convention on the Establishment of the International Organization for Mediation (IOMed).
According to a written statement issued by the Foreign Affairs Ministry ( Kemlu ) in Jakarta on Wednesday, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arief Havas Oegroseno signed the convention during the Global Forum on International Mediation in Hong Kong on May 30, 2025.
"Indonesia will continue to be proactive not only in the establishment of the IOMed, but also in advocating the use of mediation to resolve conflicts between countries," he said.
