Jakarta, Jan. 5 -- The Indonesian government has granted schools in disaster-hit areas flexibility to adjust learning activities to ensure education services continue after natural disasters.
Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti said the policy aims to fulfill students' right to safe, meaningful, and sustainable education following disasters.
"Education services must not stop due to disasters. However, the safety of students, teachers, and staff must remain the top priority in every policy," he said on Monday.
He said the ministry has issued a circular allowing schools to adjust teaching methods, class schedules, and the use of available educational facilities.
