Jakarta, Sept. 15 -- Indonesia's Health Ministry has allocated Rp9.7 trillion (around US$592 million) from its proposed Rp114 trillion budget for 2026 to implement the government's quick-win health programs.
During a working meeting with Commission IX of the House of Representatives (DPR) on Monday, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the programs include upgrading facilities in 10 hospitals, eradicating tuberculosis, and rolling out a free health check-up program.
For the tuberculosis program, Sadikin said the ministry aims to ensure an adequate supply of medicine while strengthening promotive and preventive efforts, including expanded case detection and improved treatment success rates.
