Jakarta, Aug. 15 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed his commitment to continuing the Free Nutritious Meals (Makan Bergizi Gratis or MBG) program, allocating Rp335 trillion (around US$20.7 billion) in the 2026 State Budget.

Presenting the 2026 State Budget Bill before members of parliament in Jakarta on Friday, Prabowo said that a superior generation can only emerge from healthy children with adequate nutrition.

"We are building a superior generation through MBG. A superior generation is born from healthy bodies with proper nutrition," he stated.

The president set a target for the program to reach 82.9 million children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers nationwide. This will be supported by the expansion of MBG ...
